Twin Single is Canberra’s newest alt-folk-pop band serving up 4-part harmonies, banjo riffs and songs to make you feel things. The supergroup of local musicians from bands like Peach Lane and Kilroy formed in 2023 after Mads and Andrew brought new and old friends together to bring their songs to life. The band draws inspiration from the likes of boygenius, Pinegrove and Runnner, weaving intricate melodies and heartfelt lyrics into a sound that spans genres. Their debut single ‘Honeyglows’ is a folk-pop bop about being completely giddy about someone. It has been described as 'incredibly wholesome' and 'even better live' so you should probs come to the show!
Opening up the night is local duo Oakmoss.
Oakmoss is a symbiotic partnership of two organisms found in mountainous forests; its scent is described as lush, earthy and velvety. The duo, formed by Guy Lilleyman and Jessica Peris, combines their respective backgrounds in folk-rock guitar and classical piano, producing a distinctive sound that dances on the cusp of melancholic and uplifting. A smooth interlacing of two worlds featuring bendy guitar lines, dreamy piano chords and chocolatey vocals, their music paints a pretty picture wrapped in a cozy sense of nostalgia. Oakmoss is inspired by artists like SYML, The xx and Gone Gone Beyond.
This event will take place on the unceded lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people.
