Edward Fitzgerald's acclaimed translation of Omar Khayyam's 12th-century verses extolling the pleasures of love and wine and other mysteries of the universe has been adapted from the conventional solo recitation to a witty conversation between the poet (read by Phillip Mackenzie) and his lover (Dawn Gardiner), with verses read in Farsi by Ehsan Sharifi and dance by Alli Jury with music by John Mimellis.
