Somewhere between the realms of folk, bluegrass, pop, rock and chamber music,
Emily Kelly and Graham Coe let go of any sense of trepidation and go on to develop a deeply soulful,
break-neck amalgam of old-time and new age roots influences alike.
Popmatters
Emily Kelly and Graham Coe are Scottish duo The Jellyman’s Daughter. Singing with an affinity and closeness that can often have audiences puzzling over who is singing which harmony line, their songs can range from a simple plaintive wisp of a feeling to imaginative musical endeavours incorporating guitar and Graham's often-unconventional cello playing, which can range from powerful, driving rhythmic folk propulsion to delicate, sonorous post-rock-inspired underscoring. They’ll be touring Australia and New Zealand in January with their full new album line up comprising innovative 5-string banjo (Jamie Francis), bass (Leo Bacica), and drums (Ben Collard).
