Sturt Avenue is an indie folk family band led by SCALA award-winning singer/songwriter Bryn Soden. Hailing from the Adelaide hills, Bryn has been crafting heartfelt indie folk songs that explore themes of love, loss, and a peculiar nostalgia for days that may never have truly existed. Supporting Bryn in this musical journey are his father, John, who provides blood harmonies along with mesmerizing lead guitar and lap steel, and a close-knit group of dear friends. Among them are Bryce Lehmann on drums, Isaac Kerr on bass, and Dave Thompson on keys and accordion, who together create a rich and soulful sound.
Sturt Avenue's music is deeply rooted in the bonds of family and enduring friendships. In 2021, they made a significant impact with their debut LP, "How Do You Think It Should Be?," featuring the widely acclaimed single 'Lions' that received national airplay on Triple J. Their album also gained extensive local radio support, earning top positions on Radio Adelaide and Three D Radio's most-played lists. Notably, the band has been shortlisted twice for the People's Choice Blues and Roots Artist award at the SA Music Awards.
Currently working on their second LP, Sturt Avenue continues to captivate audiences with their soulful melodies and poignant lyrics. Their music is a testament to the power of heartfelt storytelling and the enduring connections that inspire their artistry.
