Fully woken from our lockdown slumbers, Smith's continues with our schtick of presenting the best local musical culture Canberra has to offer. Sadly a neighbour complained about our outdoor music plans, but then La Nina intervened anyway and music and water ain't a good mix. Thus we present: Smith's Summer Series - ten weekend afternoon indoors gigs featuring ten of our favourite bands, culminating in a 26th January Public Holiday Spectacular! Let the warmer (and wetter?) weather, sensational music and sensible adoption of covid restriction relaxation opportunities continue.

Get your dancing clogs and party pants on! Zambezi Sounds is a 4 piece Canberra-based band playing a vibrant mix of contemporary and traditional African music.

Their repertoire includes instrumental music with great dance rhythms and vocal pieces, stories and songs, both serious and light-hearted and reggae. This is a band that has audiences on their feet, pushing back the chairs in venue halls.

The band is fronted by Zimbabwean musicians Ben Mutandadzi (bass, mbira, djembe and vocals) and Felix Machiridza (mbira, African drums, and vocals).
The back line are: Bonnie McConnell (mbira and keyboard ), Tatenda Maphosa (drum kit) and Brett Pollard (guitar).
