This summer has been one of great devastation. The forests, rivers, animal communities and human communities of these lands, our home, have been ravaged by the brutal heat of this fire season. Our own town has faced weeks of smoke-filled air and extreme heat. Our hearts are heavy with grief.

Community is so incredibly important in times like these. Community is what lights up the dark, as people nurture and care for each other in all the ways. So much help has already been extended to affected communities, and it will need to continue for months and years. This is just the beginning.
