After forty years as a beloved staple in the Australian music industry (Rebecca’s Empire, Rockwiz etc) Rebecca Barnard has finally recorded her first Jazz Album “The Night We Called it a Day”.  The album is a culmination of years of Rebecca’s life in music – a resplendent arrival in sunny pastures by one of Australia’s cultural treasures.

Rebecca effortlessly breathes soul and connectivity into this album of refreshingly under-exposed jazz standards dating from 1937-1963. The production style is reminiscent of artists such as Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot, making the album more accessible to a mainstream audience than the word ‘jazz’ might imply.

Produced and arranged by pianist/composer Monique diMattina, it features stunning performances from the creme of the jazz/roots scene – This album has an international and ageless resonance for a broad audience of music lovers.

She is looking forward to presenting these songs to a Canberra audience with a stellar band including Monique diMattina on piano, Ben Robertson on Bass and Sam Lemann on guitar.
