The NAFF is for everybody who, for whatever reason, doesn't want to (or like me can't) go to the National Folk Festival, as well as being for bands/performers etc. who, for whatever reason, didn't get accepted to, or didn't want to, play at the National Folk Festival. 'Folk' bands are not excluded. The NAFF also refers to the Anti-Folk Movement (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-folk) but has no actual connection to it.

Program for Day Four:

14:00 Sunday Session

Kicking off with the regular Smith’s Sunday Session. Anyone and everyone is invited to join in no matter what you play/sing or your level of ability.

16:00 Derryth and Dene

17:00 Keeper Keeper

Keeper Keeper are made up of former Canberra musos Luke Sweeting,Taylor Kunkel and Marie le Brun playing guitar, accordion and singing sweet three part harmonies.

18:00 CJ Shaw

CJ Shaw has been writing music as a soloist and in bands, for over 15 years, ran a folk club in Sydney called “Shut The Folk Up” and began his own touring company, servicing the regional towns between Sydney and Melbourne. Having been to many Folk Festivals, CJ feels that the majority of these things still start with the word ‘ANZAC’ and end with the word ‘swag’, feeling completely disconnected from the modern folk experience. To the NAFF he brings a new experience, performing modern folk songs (singer, guitar, harmonica), as well as parodies and modern bush poems (about things like paying a Telco bill). The performance will show folk in a new and interesting light.

19:00 Hayley Shone

Folk/blues/tap/humorous tunes about the musical musings of a noodle-munching student bouncing around the Canberra bubble.

20:00 Matt Dent

"Blokey Folk Rock", Matt Dent fuses Aussie pub rock with traditional folk. Unique yet familiar. Matt Dent set out, with his music, to embody the basic spirit he felt resided in Australia and it's people. In his own words: “I wanted to blend past and present music styles and revitalise what it means to me to be Australian. I also wanted to put new life into Aussie music. I feel there is a strong awakening in our culture and around the world which demands a return to our ancestral musical roots and away from the disposable, marketed music for the shallow masses. I like the idea of evolving folk music. It's music for the people about the people and what's happening in their lives, that's what I'm about."

21:00 Albert Soesastro

Albert is one of the most stylish gents in town and he weilds his acoustic with panache and flamenco flair. His songs are a mix of lounge, R&B and disco.
