Jackie Marshall initially trained in jazz and improvisation having self-educated as a singer, songwriter and guitarist in her teens after discovering some Bob Dylan charts in the bottom of her neighbour’s guitar case. She then first found her professional feet in all-female world-touring ethno music ensemble Tulipan, later decamping to Slovenia to write for puppet theatre.

After the success of the cinematic debut album ‘Fight n’ Flight’, which was nominated for an Australian Music Prize, Jackie ramped things up a bit with [a similarly arty but 11 times louder] album ‘Ladies’ Luck’ which “scored even better pull-quotes from some even cooler Aussie journalists and critics”.

Jackie has also released music under the side-project moniker ‘The Peppercorn Queen’ (a name lovingly bestowed upon her at the now legendary Nymagee Outback Festival) and collaborated with a host of top Australian talent on album ‘March Gathering 2015’ under the name of ‘#ThinAirProject’.

She has recently returned from the Balkans having worked on a puppet theatre adaptation of Tove Jansson's ‘The Summer Book’ to tour Australia for the ‘Nine Lives’ Tour.
