Matriarch is stoked to be back at Smith's Alternative to headline their 2024 International Women's Day (IWD) event. With their unique punk/grunge sound and protest songs full of guts, intelligence and humour, Matriarch continues to flip the script for women, especially older women - we have a right to be seen, to be heard and take up a shitload of space! Matriarch has played the March4Justice Rally 2021, Greens Election Night 2022, Reclaim the Night 2022 and last year the band toured their latest EP Medusa in NSW and Victoria. They've also been blasting the airwaves throughout Australia and landed on Atomic's Top 100 songs for 2023. Come celebrate International Women's Day with Matriarch and get a serve of their old and new originals plus a few cheeky covers - it's going to be HUGE!

G&T-Rex are a local 4 piece band, made up of two rainbow couples who met teaching music and dance. As their name suggests, they love all things gin and dinosaurs. Their genre is taylor meets aretha meets dolly, or e-folky-pop. They like performing a mix of covers and originals, so keep your ears peeled for the tempo changes and your dancing feet ready for the bangers.

Ana Key & the Underdogs - Since leaving Canberra and coming back years later, Ana has produced five albums of original music and won awards for song-writing. She has gained recognition as having a distinctive voice and a strong, energizing stage persona. With her band, the Underdogs, they mix rock, punk and comedy to create a unique style with engaging lyrics and catchy musical grooves and will perform a number of songs from her album Famous In My Kitchen. The line up includes, Ole Nielsen Guitar, Keith Joliffe Bass, Stephen Deakin Drums and Ana Key vocals. They are represented by Squeeze Records Australia.

Alsion Proctor – One half of loveable local duo The Cashews, Alison has recently merged her ensuing mid-life crisis with her penchant for a slightly more edgy, angsty, folk punk persona, bringing humour and invective in equal measure to the trials and tribulations of marriage, divorce, child rearing and life in general in the pre-apocalyptic era.

Isabella McNickle (Stand Up) Isabella has performed at numerous local venues as a member of the band, Eagle Medicine, as a solo vocalist, keyboard player, and as a stand-up comedienne. “I didn’t appreciate my childhood music lessons”, she says. “My friends were going to Girl Guides, and got to wear a snappy uniform while I was practising scales. However, I appreciate them now”. Isabella lives happily in her shack in the bush, scribbles in her spare time, and knows more about chickens than she ought to.
