Geoff's Poetry at Smith's two featured poets are Lesley Lebkowicz (ACT) and David Musgrave.
Lesley Lebkowicz’s fifth book, Mountain Lion, was published by Pitt Street Poetry in 2019. The Book of Birds, a collection of poems about birds by a variety of Australian poets, which she co-edited with Penelope Layland, was launched in September 2023. She will read a sequence of poems about dying, some humorous, some serious and edging towards a spiritual understanding of death, from a new collection, What we all do. She has won or been shortlisted for various prizes. She lives in Canberra.
David Musgrave has published nine collections of poetry, the most recent being Mishearing (2023), and a novel Glissando (2010). Another novel, The Obituary Collector is forthcoming, as is a new collection of poetry The Kool-Aid Dispenser through Recent Work Press in October of this year. David founded the independent literary publishing house Puncher & Wattmann in 2005, where he remains as Managing Director, and is Deputy Chair of Australian Poetry. He teaches Creative Writing at the University of Newcastle.
