Where the new meets the old, New York City based musician, Dan Bolton is a singer/songwriter/pianist with a unique sound. His songs are 21st Century standards, incorporating elements of jazz, pop and Latin American styles. His music is reminiscent of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin but with a modern twist.
Dan has recently recorded 3 albums, The New York Sessions, Volumes 1,2 and 3 which he will be featuring in the show.
As part of his Australian tour, Dan will be performing his show at Smith’s Alternative Cafe with his quartet, including Mark Sutton (drums), Alec Coulsen (bass) and Thomas Fell (sax).
"Dan Bolton is a world-class songwriter and performer. I am especially impressed with his prolific song-writing ability; being able to capture the listener with great storytelling and sense of melody. It has been my absolute pleasure to work with him and record his music." - Adrian Cunningham (New York City based sax player: www.adriancunningham.com)
Dan Bolton is slick, quick and ready to deliver a world class performance of his swinging straight ahead jazz tunes every time. People love his relaxed manner and humorous patter and his show appeals both to jazz lovers and non-jazz lovers alike." - Roger Manins (New Zealand's Premier Sax Player)
