Free-flowing melodies, fearsome shouts, and made-in-the-moment magic. This set of pieces is carefully collected to conjure the spirit of jazz’s inflection points in the mid-1960s, from the dark liquid unison of Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter, to shapeshifting kaleidoscopic harmonies, and the roiling beat yearning to break free of form.
