Prepare for an extraordinary musical journey as the Taipei-based jazz collective Zy The Way ä¸åº¸ embarks on its inaugural Australian tour. Co-founded by Australian-Taiwanese vocalist Caitlin Magee, acclaimed American composer Matt Fullen, and Taiwanese multimedia artist Bruce Tsai, this international ensemble seamlessly intertwines 3000-year-old ancient Chinese poetry, multimedia elements, and original jazz, creating a unique and thought-provoking sonic experience.

Zy The Way's debut EP, "A Different Destiny," has received accolades for its original compositions and imaginative arrangements, earning a 3.5-star review from the prestigious Downbeat Magazine. Going beyond conventional musical performances, the band offers an immersive journey by extracting verses from one of the oldest pieces of literature globally - the ‘Book of Classics (Shijing 詩經)’ - and using the poems as the foundation for their compositions. This sets Zy The Way apart as one of the few bands in the world primarily recording in an ancient language and the only jazz ensemble doing so in Mandarin, Taiwanese (Hokkien), and English.

Don't miss the chance to be part of an evening where East meets West, ancient meets modern, multimedia meets music, and Australia meets Taiwan.
