Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) Wax Lyrical is for original songwriters and lyricists to perform 3 of their original works. There is no need to book, just turn up with your instrument of choice. The event is unplugged, no amps, no mics. Songs can be any genre and roughly 3-5 minutes in length.

You do not have to be a member of the ASA to perform your works at Wax Lyrical, however it is recommended you join at some stage if you are a regular. Plus, there are benefits to being a member of the ASA - a national, non-profit, member organisation dedicated to the support of songwriters and their art, through providing avenues for encouragement and education of developing Australian songwriters, and recognition and promotion of our accomplished members. There are songwriting competitions and award nights.
