The Frank Burkitt Band, of Wellington, NZ play their debut Canberra show as part of their Album Release Tour of Australia and New Zealand. They play original music inspired by jazz, blues, folk, swing, soul and all things American Roots.

The Frank Burkitt Band are a 4 piece (mostly!) string band fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Frank Burkitt, with Kara Filbey on backing vocals, flute and percussion, James Geluk on bass and Cameron Dusty Burnell on mandolin and banjo. Playing a range of American Roots music, the FBB are becoming one of the best-known string bands in NZ, gaining recognition for their tight arrangements, interesting songwriting, and uplifting and colourful performances. Their second album 'Raconteur' will be released on 9th March at Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Alex Richens is an alarmingly well-groomed ex horse-whisperer from the Midwestern United States. Joel Davy trained classically for 12 years before loosening his grip to focus on blues and jazz. Alex and Joel use a guitar, a cello and a man's voice to bring an earthly, soothing mix of blues, folk and jazz to the Canberra music scene.

It will be humdinger of a night.
