Soundscapes #4 is upon us! Join us on the first night of October for an evening showcasing some of Canberra’s finest musicians in the fields of experimental, electronic and improvised sound.

Our featured artists for October will serenade your ears and detonate your brains with sharp production, experimental compositions and multi-instrumental psychedelic madness.  

GHOSTNOISES

GhostNoises is a Canberra-based recording artist and producer. GhostNoises is a multi-instrumentalist who blends hip-hop beats with elaborate, classically inspired indie-pop compositions. GhostNoises’ live show is truly unique - on stage, GhostNoises utilises complex arrangements of loops to produce a rich tapestry of sound that is both upbeat and moving.

BEN HARB

Ben Harb is a young composer and performer from Canberra. A recent graduate from the Australian Nation University’s School of Music Ben has worked with many members of the local and international experimental music and art communities. Ben has worked and performed with a number of acts within Canberra including the ANU New Music Ensemble, the Experimental Music Studio, Opus and bands such as Ecruteak and Lost Coast. 

Recently, Ben’s work has focused on the use of electro acoustic instrumentation, spatialisation, and open form composition. Ben also focuses on composition techniques that allow the performer control over the work’s parameters changing the piece each time it is performed. Ben also works on developing new forms of notation and direction that do not rely on the practices of standardised forms, allowing the performer more control over their interpretation and expression of the work. By combining this with fixed media, Ben creates an interesting soundscape in a live performance setting and on record.
