Tessie Overmyer, Harley Coleman and Toby Dunan are the new generation of Sydney jazz: scarily accomplished and fearlessly open-eared.

They have emerged from the Sydney Conservatorium blinking into the light of Sydney’s brightest jazz stars: their respective collaborators already include Sydney legends like Mike Nock and Jonathan Zwartz alongside a slew of genre-bending underground projects with their peers.

Overmyer and Coleman arrive from the south, fresh from working with with Melbourne jazz icon and multi-ARIA award winner Andrea Keller.

In Canberra, they meet Alex Raupach and Chris Pound in a new collaboration, with the quintet Sydney-bound on 17 March for a second outing at King Street’s New Orleans-tinged basement venue The Swinging Cat.
