Noted Festival presents: Art: What is it Good For?

What is art good for? If we stopped arting, what would be the consequences? Perceptions of what constitutes Art often incorporate notions of inaccessibility - whether this is related to luxury and price or intellectual elitism. Our panel will discuss the impact of these perceptions on how we value art more broadly, our attitude towards allocating public funding to people wanting to make it, and the extent to which this privileges some voices over others.
