Sally's work features the beauty of natural landscapes in various mediums including watercolours, pastels and lino prints. She has worked and studied around the world, and has now settled in Canberra to share her love of art making and teaching.
"Life is a journey and my paintings are MEDITATIONS on the relationship between time, place and humanity. These works are a reflection of my own personal journeys through this ancient land. I invite the viewer to pause momentarily and contemplate on a particular place or event that has significance in our stories of country.
As a newcomer to the contemporary Canberra art scene I appreciate this opportunity to present a collection that shows the evolution of my particular way of seeing and interpreting the built and natural landscape. This exhibition encompasses an element of retrospection - and shows the transition from some earlier pieces, which emphasised the abstract qualities of the visual environment, to a more recent series where the concept of movement dominates the use of mixed media."
