Anna Smyrk is an alt-folk singer-songwriter from Central Victoria, Australia. She’s an artisan of song, spinning stories about love, death and far away places. Anna currently splits her time between Australia and the Solomon Islands, juggling her music with her work in international development. These experiences of living and working in different places have enriched her songwriting and provided opportunities to connect with other musicians from various backgrounds. This special show at Smiths marks the end of Anna’s ‘House of Straw’ National Tour.
Dan Musil can do rare things with a slide guitar. Shared with warm humility, Dan's music combines haunting instrumental compositions with boisterous songs of social satire. With a penchant for improvisation, a love of Celtic tunes, and a bag of original music, let Dan take you on a journey to where jigs meet the blues, where eucalyptus-infused meditations meet driving groove & flowing phrase. A former resident of this strange city, Dan takes any opportunity to get back to the Bush Capital (and in particular, Smith’s!) from Gippsland.
