Formed in true Public Service 'let’s just make this work' fashion, Need to Know is the creation of a dedicated group of guys/gals who want to give the public what they want… rhythm and grooves.

Side Effects May Vary formed for the fun of Dept of Rock. Expect genre warping curveballs, riffs and rhythm changes that shouldn't sit together but somehow do, and a bluesy backbone holding the whole thing steady.

Triple 0 Maniacs
Triple 0 Maniacs, a band born specifically for Dept of Rock by public servants united in a shared desire to do something more exciting with their hands than typing emails and answering phones - like play great rock and roll!

Phoenix Bureau
Born from the ashes of committee meetings and resurrected in the break room with a borrowed guitar and a whiteboard marker, Phoenix Bureau blend rock, punk, metal and memos to deliver biting satire on everything from budget estimates to interdepartmental committees.

Dislodged
Dislodged started as an entrant in the ANU's 2022 Big Night Out competition. Their sound has been described as ‘an oscillation in pressure, stress, particle displacement, or velocity propagated in a medium with internal forces, or the auditory sensation evoked by that oscillation’.
