Smith’s Theatre of Horror & Immorality is a community theatre project dedicated to exploring the deliciously twisted realms of horror and the absurd. Our ensemble is made up of adults aged 18 and over, ranging from seasoned professionals to bold beginners. Members currently commit to two hours each week—Mondays from 6–8pm—with additional time added as we move into full rehearsal mode.

To join, all you need is a willingness to learn playfully, experiment bravely, and dive into the craft of performance through basic theatre skills, improvisation, and the many delightful components of designing and rehearsing a show.

Our ultimate aim? To unleash a scandalous spectacle of unspeakable horror at Smith’s—an experience certain to make your skin crawl and your blood curl.

Participation costs nothing but commitment and a joyful appetite for the immorally theatrical. The group is nearly full, but if you’d like to discuss the possibility of joining, please email.

Your facilitator for this theatrical adventure: Rauny Worm.

Rauny originally trained as an actor and theatre pedagogue, with a side quest in art history in northern Germany. She cut her teeth in circus and theatre as a pedagogue and assistant director, before stepping into the director’s chair for the first time in 1991—in what was then former East Germany.

You may know her as the (delightfully intimidating) former CEO of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre, or as Director of Visitor Engagement at Parliament House and the National Museum. Now Dr Worm brings her skills, bloodthirst, and occasionally fearsome cultural superpowers to lead this ensemble onto the stage of Horror & Immorality.
