Birds, Bees & Other Bits are hosting a panel discussion: "Pleasure, Pain & Permission". Come, learn and ask questions in the warm and accepting space at Smith's Alternative.

Co-hosts Amy Ehsman and Anaïs Escribe will be facilitating the afternoon of Saturday 1st October from 4pm to 6pm. Siren Vandoll:

Siren is a sexuality educator, researcher and sensuality mentor from Canberra, Australia. She specialises in BDSM and alternative sexuality, sensual self-empowerment, non-monogamous relationships, positive consent, non-binary advocacy and queer kink.

Since July 2014, Siren has run workshops and sessions for Queer Collaborations, ANU, UTS Pride Week, Curtin University, Macquarie University, ACT SpringOut Pride Festival and ACT Rovers. She has also worked with the Sydney Festival of Really Good Sex in 2016.

She is the leader and coordinator of Sex Geekdom ACT, which runs duscussion groups and social events for sex positive Canberrans.

Ayesha Kaak:

Ayesha is a sex-positive, enthusiastic consent championing, out and proud kinkster, talkative sex nerd, and PhD scholar. She is co-founder of the Canberra Under 30s group for young kinksters; organising munches, workshops and parties for social networking, learning, and (of course) pleasure. 

Having received First Class Honours (Sociology) from the Australian National University, her PhD research explores the relationship between language, power, and consent in BDSM contexts. 

Her conference and invited talk topics have included media representations vs the realities of kink, etiquette and social networking for kinksters, narratives of BDSM in contemporary society, research methodologies and epistemologies, and a plethora of consent discussions.
