Having spent the last decade scaling cliffs, guitar-slinging and crafting songs along the east coast of the country, Mitchell Rubly’s latest musical vessel Mini Waters places his clever, charming lyricism and warm-as-toast vocals among a band that blends delicate indie-folk with dreamy alt-country and sunny psychedelia.

Now based in Narrm/Melbourne, Mitch and Mini Waters — featuring members of Bumpy’s band, Quality Used Cars, Aunty Blue and Squid Nebula —  have released their debut album Thanks for Everything to sold out shows and rave reviews, and are working on new music due at some point in early 2026.

A superb meeting point of all the best corners of country and folk with Mitch Rubly's engaging storytelling driving it all home.” - Jordan Oakley [Underground Love, PBS]

A warm invitation into the magic of Mitchell’s lyricism. Lead lines curl around melodies, pushing alt-country into the outer edges of indie rock. Mini Waters’ debut is an introspective gem, with layered arrangements that reward close listening and pull you in further each time.” - Bumpy [Pebbles, RRR]

Tim Winterflood went missing in the hills. When his naked body was miraculously recovered, emergency services found him beneath a pile of half-written pop songs, along with his final request; “give me a band”.

Midwinterflood is the result of thousands of hours put in by search and rescue volunteers, but also the efforts of band members from Bumpy, Mini Waters and Hampton State Forest. Tim is actually alive still, and his songs are rarely described, but when they are, they are often described as a potato & leek & indie rock & Americana cup of pop.
