In Austrian and Germanic folklore there are mythical demons called Krampuswho descend upon the villages at xmas time to punish those who have misbehaved. These punishments can range from a lump of coal in your xmas stocking, a personal scare from the Krampus to a slow, agonising death. The Krampus serve as Santa's left hand, doing all his dirty work while he keeps his nose clean and his reputation intact.
Formed by Black Mark and Count Lust before the recent plagues, Krampus play a pungent gumbo of black, death, grind and doom, with demonic lyrics lambasting xmas and humanity in general. They released their debut album\colouring book set in 2023 and they are currently finishing their second album, Festive Suffering, set for a xmas 2025 release. This show will feature a screening of the new Krampus video, A Xmas Meal, from the upcoming album.
The first thing you need to know about The Missing Lincolns is the drums. The drums sound like they're being beaten by someone who's seen the face of god - and didn't like what they saw. You listen to these guys and you realise they've tapped into something not just primal, but cosmic - an elemental force so alive it makes your pulse race to its rhythm. Their sound dances atop that dazzling edge where manic intellect meets lizard brain.
But look beneath the distortion, look beyond the unhinged stage antics and you'll catch glimpses of brilliance - melodies that stick to your brain like bubble gum to the sole of your shoe, lyrics that ricochet between the profound and the petty like a drunk preacher at the pulpit, basslines that slink around as if they've been cribbed from an Escher staircase and the drums - did I mention the drums? - forever pounding with the frantic energy of a shaman one incantation away from cracking open the while universe. Their whole thing is part meticulous construction, part sweaty visceral chaos. They're loud, they're fast, they're righteous, but most of all they're here to party.
