Heat 4 Bands & Bios

The Substrates - We are a makeshift band bonded together by the very substrates that make magnetic media, here to play music in the format of live rock and roll.

Space Party - is a four-piece power surf pop garage punk band, featuring some of Canberra’s hottest live musicians and songwriters that also happen to be public servants. Space Party have just released a new EP, Earth vs Space (Part One), the first part in a trilogy to be released in the coming year.

Ryland Newstead and the MCGs - This five (sometimes six) piece band has been playing around Canberra for two years, starting to take it more seriously in 2023. The style of the band falls within the rock/pop/rock/alt/rock/indie paradigm. The band’s variety of song writers and instrument changes adds to the sense of fun.

Beer Garden Gnomes – The BGGs was started in Melbourne by Jonty and a few of his mates, playing a few gigs here and there. When Jonty moved to Canberra he wanted to keep the BGG vibe alive, and through work found local musos keen to join the band. The Beer Garden Gnomes are all plus 50, and still love to rock on!

Bars and Tones - We are an acoustic band to serenade you with sweet harmonies and cajon drums to encapsulate the sound of your beating heart.

The Crossbenchers - play a cool mix of originals and music from all the best artists - across all the genres you know and love! They can be chill, they can be cool, they can be rockin'. The Crossbenchers love what they do and they do it with a passion for good music.
