Come and cheer on 6 amazing bands in each heat as they battle it out for a place in the semi-finals. A diverse panel of judges will be presiding over the heats and the three bands they choose to move onto the semi-finals will be announced at the end of the night.

Heat 1 Bands & Bios

Blindsided – is a Canberra covers band that play a saucy mix of rock songs n classics with a twist.

Adventure Street - is Canberra born and bred. When the guitarist and lead singer bought houses on the same street, the creation of the band was inevitable. When that street name was ‘Adventure’, the band name was a gift.  The four piece plays a variety of music and instruments that will take you down every musical street. 

The Shadies – is an inclusive, fun loving ukulele band which was set up by Dept of Environment staff over seven years ago and has followed them through their various machinations and movements in and out of government departments. The Shadies play anything and everything with their own special interpretation.

The Absent Acetones - This the band’s first outing as a trio – bringing songs to the stage entirely different from the repertoire of our previous incarnation (Nozl).  The band will playing original songs including a mini-rock opera, a contemplative but riff-based costs-benefit analysis of nostalgia.

Mumford & Stones - Geologists by day, rock stars by night – Mumford and Stones are real experts at discovering 'rock' formations – whether they're finding fossils in the field or crafting epic guitar riffs. With a sound as deep as a borehole and lyrics as old as the Earth itself, they've unearthed a unique blend of tunes that will leave audiences 'strata-gizing' for more.

Dark Horse - is a dynamic and versatile five-piece Canberra cover band chock full of ACT public servant rockers. Dark Horse’s repertoire includes a wide range of genres and eras, catering to a variety of audiences, venues and musical tastes. The band is locked, loaded and ready to slay the stage at the Public Service Battle of the Bands.
