This is the story of how a German composer, George Frideric Handel, conquered London with his beautiful and exciting music and became so deeply identified with Britain and its musical tradition. How many English composers have had their works performed in almost three centuries of coronations?

Renowned international countertenor and conductor Tobias Cole with a company of players and singers will explore Handel’s Crusade by focussing on his hugely successful first London opera, Rinaldo, the story of the famous knight of the First Crusade. This show will also feature a discussion with eminent Canberra arts critic Helen Musa.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear gorgeous music and discover new and fascinating and funny things about Handel, opera and British music.
