Welcome to August! Continuing with their free-flowing approach to jazz improvisation Nick McBride (drums), Chris Pound (bass) and Ben Marston (trumpet) will present a set of music that will explore some of the lesser-known jazz compositions. During the break Nick and Ben will share selections from their vast jazz vinyl collection after which they will be joined by special guest vocalist Rachael Thoms.

Rachael Thoms is one of Australia's versatile contemporary vocal artists, with a performance career spanning jazz, classical music, music theatre, commercial performance, recording, and collaborative projects.

For more than three decades she has performed across a diverse range of musical settings, and continues to appear in concerts, festivals, recordings, and creative collaborations throughout Australia. As a recording artist, Rachael has released The Great Unknown with pianist Luke Sweeting, the jazz standards EP Nothing But Blue Skies with guitarist Lachlan Coventry.
