Zambezi Sounds is a 5 piece Canberra based band playing a vibrant mix of contemporary and traditional African music.

Their repertoire includes instrumental music with great dance rhythms and vocal pieces, stories and songs, both serious and light-hearted and more recently, reggae. This is a band that has audiences on their feet, pushing back the chairs in venue halls.

The band is fronted by Zimbabwean musicians Ben Mutandadzi (bass guitar and vocals) and Felix Machiridza (mbira, African drums, and vocals). The back line are: keyboard player Lindsay Nesci, guitarist Tom Sherringham and Frank Piccolo on drum kit.

The perfomance by Zambezi Sounds will kick off the afterparty for Raices: Afro Latin Festival and there is discounted entry for ticket holders of any of the festival workshops. The night also features performances from Habana Kaliente Dance School and Subsdance Dance Studio.
