Originally from a small country town a few hours out of São Paolo, Brazil, Tide is a Melbourne based guitarist and vocalist. He plays contemporary Brazilian jazz: Samba-Jazz, Baião, Chula, and Afoxé; genres which have a strong African origin as well as South American Indigenous and European influences.

Tide interweaves carefully selected contemporary Brazilian tunes with original compositions. Inspired by the likes of Brazilian contemporary songwriters Gilberto Gil and João Bosco, Tide has developed a distinctive percussive style, melding fingerstyle and articulate strumming techniques to achieve a dynamic, delicate and varied sound. The result is an organic and authentic style of Brazilian music.

Tide has been playing around Melbourne for close to three years, during this period he has founded and led two bands; Rua, a Brazilian samba-funk six piece, and Ventopipa, a Brazilian Samba-jazz /Bossa quartet.

Tide has recently begun to take more time for his solo career and is preparing to launch an album in 2019
