Gorgeous, beautiful. This stopped me in my tracks. Slightly surreal, in all the right ways.
He’s just one of those artists who sounds totally like himself.
Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2

The Magic Lantern is the musical moniker of singer-songwriter and composer Jamie Doe, an artist blurring the boundaries between folk, jazz and contemporary music. Born in Australia before moving to the UK at 12, his songs examine the limitless depth of human experience with devastating, joyous results.

His fourth album 'A Reckoning Bell', written and recorded while helping to care for his father with Alzheimer’s disease, sees Jamie turn to the piano to explore what loss can teach us about love and how love’s many small acts give a life meaning. The result is a study in masculine vulnerability that sits with and acknowledges the inevitability of a loss witnessed in slow motion and the unexpected moments of joy that sustain us.

Emily-Rose and the Wild Things travel from their Australian coastal habitat to supply soundtracks to your wildest dreams. Folk, prog, jazz, classical and experimental worlds meld seamlessly with deeply mature song-writing of ARIA nominated multi-instrumentalist, Emily-Rose Sarkova.

Their debut album 'Upon These Open Skins' has been played on major radio stations nationally and their 2022 Australia wide tour saw performances hailed as 'the highest of artistry'. Don't miss their anticipated return to Smiths Alternative!
