Emma Rose Smith is a writer, editor and arts organiser living and working on Gadigal and Wangal land. She is interested in accountability, queerness, mental health, and the politics of representation. She is the founder, producer and director of Unspoken Words storytelling festival, and also co-organises the monthly poetry event Word in Hand and is the Poetry Object Coordinator at Red Room Poetry. By weekend she gardens haphazardly.

Clark Gormley is a poet, singer/songwriter and performer from Newcastle, NSW. He has been heavily involved in the local poetry scene, and has been President of Poetry at the Pub for the last ten years. His style has been described as quirky and offbeat. He published the book and CD Turn of Phrase in 2002.

Clark will be sharing his poetry, plus solo renditions of songs writting and usually performed by musical duo Nerds & Music with Wayne Thompson. They have released three albums of original wordy, witty songs, including their most recent, You Can’t Polish a Nerd. They have performed at various folk festivals, including The National.
