Ruido are musical story tellers, harnessing authentic rhythms, songs and gestures from flamenco and driving them into Australian hearts. Ruido set their own rules. These musicians get up and dance, and the dancers sing and play! 

Ruido are a bit cheeky and quite brazen. They sing in English and Spanish because they want their audience to know the full character of their songs. Whilst Ruido love to present forgotten songs from far flung places, more than half of their songs are composed by the troupe. This is the Flamenco way.

Ruido won an APRA award for their home-grown Profundo Seguirilla in 2015. Every show is different: from themed productions like “Treasures of Silk Road” and “Songs from the Flamenco Tree” through to mainstage Australia Day performances, dance parties and light-hearted intimate venues like Smith’s. Ruido is cherished for their pop-up parties at local restaurants.
