Through stories both powerful and provocative, Queer Mythology explores how myths and legends have always held space for queerness. From gender-shifting deities and romantic tales of same-sex lovers to legends that challenge cultural ideas of identity, themes of queerness are woven throughout ancient stories from around the world.

Blending storytelling, history, and cultural insight, this talk celebrates the rich spectrum of human connection and self-expression while examining why so many of these stories were softened, erased, or rewritten over time.

Dr Emma Woods holds a PhD in Mythology and Folklore. She has spent her life obsessed with mythological tales and chasing folklore down rabbit holes. She is also a co-founder of MythCrafts, a host for #FolkloreThursday, and the author of Bite Me.
