Local Canberra band Kopasetic will launch their debut EP 'Rhapsody Blues' at Smith's Alternative. Recorded at Amberly Studios overlooking Namadgi's mountains and the Bullen Range Nature Reserve, the EP features a unique dialect of roots music influenced by folk, reggae, ska and fingerstyle guitar. Each track on the EP tells a story about powerlessness and politics in the information age, with lyrics that enliven themes of modern oligarchy, environmentalism and social justice. Kopasetic's influences include Neil Young, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Tommy Emmanuel, Fela Kuti, Fortunate Youth and Ray Lamontagne.

Joining Kopasetic on the night will be the acoustic indie rock band Bobby James. Taking from influences such as Andrew Bird, Death Cab for Cutie, Hozier, ect, Bobby James delivers captivating performances, with soothing catchy melodies and driving worldly rhythms. The four piece band recently started their first recordings, and is set to release their debut EP towards the end of 2019.
