Melbourne Songwriters Collective features three uniquely powerful female songwriters, Pia Nesvara, STAV. and Chev Person. Singing harmonies on each other’s songs with vibrant instrumental arrangements, melodic and textural improvisation, subtle grooves, joy and sadness, as well as irrelevant but interesting facts about their lives, they were a crowd-favourite at the National Folk Festival (Canberra 2022) and recently released their debut single ‘Silken Dreams’.

Pia Nesvara - Chilean-Australian songwriter. Arm-in-arm with her flamenco guitar, her soulful indie-folk music blends gutsy vocals, hard-hitting rhythms and brazen lyrics. New single ‘Heavy Heaven’ released on October 15.

STAV. - Introspective and playful, mesmerising folk-pop artist STAV. blurs the lines between singing and spoken word. You might have seen her at Smiths earlier this year opening for Harry James Angus (The Cat Empire). She was the winner of the Folk Alliance Australia ‘Young Artist of the Year’ award in 2018.

Chev Person - Chev makes singer/songwriter bedroom pop about life, love, and mental health, with colourful chords, curly rhythms, and earworms straight from the heart.

Kim Yang – Inspired by Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver, Taiwanese-Australian songstress Kim Yang writes music on love, life and mental health issues with evocative lyrics, driving melodies and soaring vocals. Her ethereal blend of sounds balances delicately between vulnerability and power.
