Much loved Canberra singer Rachel Thorne, and pianist and composer extraordinaire Michael Dooley bring you not one, but two album launches in one amazing show.

The inimitable Canberra Jazz duo In2DEEP combines the stunning vocal talents of Rachel Thorne with the pianistic and compositional abilities of Mike Dooley. The duo has been inspiring and soothing audiences around Canberra and at regional festivals for the last 5 years, with a combination of renditions of the great jazz standards with their own sometimes swinging, sometimes soulful jazz originals.

Mike originally studied composition at Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has travelled the world performing and composing, returning to Canberra 8 years ago. He has since produced several albums, including one for Sydney-Wollongong based blues and jazz Diva Pearl Noire, and his own instrumental jazz album “High Time”, as well as several CD’s of original classical piano music.

Rachel Thorne lives up to reputation as Canberra’s Own Songbird bringing you 12 original tunes from her stunning debut album “Identity”. Again collaborating with the exceptional talent of Michael Dooley, each song has a unique feel and style ranging from some rather raw ballads to cruisey R’n’B, dabbling in a bit of country, rock and jazz as well!

Formerly a member of the Australian Army band, she has shared the stage with numerous Australian celebrities, including John Farnham and Kylie Minogue and has since had an extensive professional singing career with a number of top local acts, including the Smooth Operators and the Connexion Big Band.
