[…] The rhythm of their lyrics and sardonic drawl of their delivery reminds me of the anti-folk scene in New York. There is the quick rhythmic meter […] endowed with all the quirk & lettered poise of eccentric intellectuals like Kimya Dawson or Dufus. Lyrically charged with electric wit and armed with the musical complexity of their respective broad influences.
- Country Queer - Adeem Maria (the Artist), August 2020

There's a buzz about Great Aunt - theirs is a joyous and eclectic approach to making music.

Together, songwriter/instrumentalists Megan Bird and Chelsea Allen draw inspiration from the traditions of old-time, bluegrass and gospel music, and their diverse backgrounds in punk and jazz, to craft modern musical stories. The instrumentation and arrangements are bare and bold: using only various combinations of mandolin, guitar, or resonator with double bass and percussion, and the elegant voices of Bird and Allen in joyful harmony.

The duo has delighted audiences at some of Australia’s finest music and arts festivals, including Woodford Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival, Deni Ute Muster, The GAS, Wintermoon, Healesville Music Festival, Fleurieu Folk Festival, and Newport Folk Festival, amongst others. They have shared stages with notable acts including Vika & Linda Bull (AUS), Adeem the Artist (USA), Mary Flower (USA), Sue Ray (AUS), The Weeping Willows (AUS), Paisley Fields (USA),  The Belle Miners (CAN), The Ocelots (IRE), and many more.

Listen, and you'll hear tales of joy and grief, whiskey and wine, gratitude and purpose-seeking.

Sarah Humphreys
Depth of heart and sweetness of soul are two things that flow freely through the music of the beloved Australian folk singer, Sarah Humphreys. From delicate folk music to personal reveries, vibrant collaborations and rousing alt-country songs, Sarah has the ability to infuse it all with her innate sensitivity and an artisanal touch in the craft of songwriting.

"Sarah makes singing seem so effortless, graceful and easy that she leaves us feeling only the pure emotion of the words, of the song. She inspires other singers to higher heights. She sounds to me like the warm embrace of a wise, benevolent, beloved sister. She is the Karen Carpenter of our age, but with added spunk and grit." - Matt Tonks

"From the first time I heard Sarah Humphreys’ beautiful voice I became her biggest fan. She writes songs from the heart that are real and captivating – just like the person she is." - Kasey Chambers
