The first show has sold out, but fret not, they’ve graciously added a second show at 9pm.
With a barrowload of radish beets sprouting the seeds of change, Formidable Vegetable combine strings, horns and ukulele with positive climate action that the whole neighbourhood can get down to. Their songs have inspired people from 5 to 95 to grow their own food, make kimchi and live a better life after being serenaded with irresistibly funky home-scale solutions to the sometimes-overwhelming problems of the world. Formidable Vegetable have toured to over 20 countries, playing everywhere from the local farmers market to massive festivals such as Glastonbury alongside the likes of Radiohead, Dolly Parton and The Rolling Stones.
Mal Webb & Kylie Morrigan
Vocal adventurer, multi-instrumentalist and looping beatboxing songwriter Mal sings his brain provoking songs using all sorts of vocal techniques, guitar, mbira, slide trumpet, trombone, chromatic harmonica and a loop recording pedal called Derek. And Kylie (who's played with Orchestra Victoria and the likes of Stevie Wonder and Barry White!) provides violin and voice in a perfect balance to Mal's nutsness. Their arrangements are intricate and playful. Imagine Einstein, Dr Seuss and Paganini making pancakes.
