Following two shows through Adelaide and Melbourne, Blooming will be returning to Canberra with a full band to launch his debut single "Ways to Go" at Smiths Alternative.

Following 10 years of performing, busking, writing and touring with other bands and projects, ventures into spoken-word poetry, theater and the visual art world, the newly emerging singer-songwriter returns to his home town, Canberra.

"This is the place where most of my songs were born, where I spent most of my life and where I began to make the choice to share this music with the world. It's a very, very special place for me and Smith's Alternative in particular."

"It's hard not to listen to [him] without feeling transported, [his] blend of alt folk with rich lyrics is quite simply bliss to the ears." -Coconut Kids

Supporting on the night will be Melbourne’s Ancient Animal Orchestra, who perform original folk music with a wide range of influences, spanning post-rock, African, jazz and experimental. Inspired by natural soundscapes, the four members immerse audiences in their blend of guitar, vocals, drums, violin, trombone, junk percussion and kalimbas. The band formed in Melbourne with the intention of pushing the boundaries of folk music, while remaining inclusive and inviting to all.
