Black Mountain String Band

Canberra’s own string band maestros are launching their much awaited second CD - ‘Round Again  - at Smith’s Alternative and couldn’t be happier. This celebration of all things string combines fiddles and banjos along with guitar and double bass that draws from both the well of tradition and adds original songs, all to be unveiled on this night.

Eclectic tastes and clever arrangements are the order of the day and will delight aficionados and curious newcomers alike. Think of a brew of old time Appalachian but with added spices of Cajun, bluegrass, swing, blues and Mexicana! The band is Donal Baylor, Jacqueline Bradley, Matt Nightingale and Pablo Shopen.
