Yes, poetry slam, and that means 2 minutes on stage with no props no music and your original material! 

All for glory, infamy and most importantly, 1st Prizes! Yes, more 1st prizes than could possibly exist at any poetry slam except BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! and there is no other poetry slam anyway, POETRY SLAM! 1st Prizes!

And because this is poetry slam we have feature acts!

Emily Crocker
Emily Crocker writes and performs poetry. You might have seen her at BAD!SLAM!, Noted Festival, Unspoken Words or Word in Hand. She can also be found at Enough Said Poetry Slam in Wollongong, or studying at the University of Wollongong. Her debut chapbook, Girls and Buoyant, was published by Subbed In in 2017.

Rafe Morris
Rafe Morris is an Australian songwriter who shares his positive and unique perspective of life through lyrically rich songs. Sometimes his songs are poignant and insightful. Sometimes his songs are funny and offensive. Sometimes this gets Rafe into trouble but he gets out of it by being really short. Rafe is currently living in New York* working on an album with a string quartet. It should be ready by mid 2018, and it will be fabulous.

And we have the BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! CANBERRA NATIONAL PIANO MAN to bring you into the night, to take your requests, and to accompany you if you want to break the rules, but no one breaks poetry slam rules because poetry slam rules are what keep us alive and on the path to victory, POETRY SLAM!

So join the audience, The Master of Conflict, the bar staff, The Score Adder, the poets, the judges, the MCs, the sound people, the Sacrificial Poet, the loungers and the giant robot drivers for BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! POETRY SLAM!

And remember, sign-up from 6:30pm, poetry slam at 7pm, poetry, judges, glory, yelling and tears of joy, then prizes and it’s all done by 9:30pm.
