Join us on the eve of the election for a night of nothing to do with the election. An evening of blissed out music and melodic sounds from some of Canberra’s finest experimental solo artists - Fossil Rabbit, ALPHAMALE and Happy Axe.

ARTISTS:

Fossil Rabbit

Canberra-based artist Fossil Rabbit uses laptop and guitar to create a part-electronica part-instrumental sound centered around the live looping of melodic guitar loops, ambient soundscapes and beats. His first EP Cloudache, released in late 2013, was described by BMA Magazine as managing to appeal to the “leftfield electronic-head that loves the likes of Four Tet's stuff just as much as the Pink Floyd-head who just wants to bliss out to some gorgeously warm guitar bends.”

Happy Axe

Haunting the fringes between electro-acoustic, experimental, and pastoral indie, Happy Axe uses violin, musical saw and vocals to create layers of sound that are beautiful, unsettling and cinematic. Organic instrumental sounds are melded with digital manipulation, looping and effecting, and when performing, sounds are generated live.

ALPHAMALE

Alphamale (AKA Hannah de Feyter) is a Canberra-based experimental/noise viola player. With previous releases through Canberra labels Cinnamon Records and Early Music, Alphamale's music has been described in Messandnoise.com as encompassing sounds “that can be anything from the gentle pulse of a treated viola, to a powerful wall of tones and feedback which envelop the room.”
