Salonistas

Hailing from the badlands of Marrickville, Salonistas run the musical gamut from alt-country to rockabilly with the odd foray into roots and blues. Think Lucinda Williams, Eilen Jewell and Tom Waits on a good day. They have a penchant for songs about love, grog and Jesus. With occasional coarse language.

“Salonistas swim gracefully in the humid bayou where streams of country meet the river of soul… They can swing, swagger and swear like all the best bar bands.” (Marrickville Music Festival 2022).

What She’s Having

What She's Having lives large, never leaving pretty rhinestones unturned.

Enamoured with old school country and 70's rock, What She's Having are heavily influenced by the lyrical songwriting and legacy of Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Townes Van Zandt.

Like a beautiful Louisiana concertina, What She's Having is an outfit that expands and contracts as befits the occasion. The full band features the amazing Leonie Gall (bass), Robert Campton (guitar) and Ian Johnson (drums). Everyone sings, so look out for the five-part harmonies! They are looking forward to representing Canberra as part of the Hats off to Country festival in Tamworth in July.

As a duo, the voices of Jenny Spear and Bridget Croft blend beautifully, accompanied by Jenny’s stunning guitar playing. What She’s Having’s music has already received airplay across many countries, and they have a string of successful shows under their belts, including at the 2023 Tamworth Country Music Festival, featuring a coveted spot on the Fanzone stage. Their second single, Still on the Run, was recently single of the week on WA radio station Country Thunder.
