River Movement are bringing their unique blend of cross genre music to Smiths Alternative. Their combination of rap and folk music has evolved into a full band experience that regularly includes elements of reggae, rock and funk.

This mixture along with River Movements trade-mark live freestyles (mid set), regularly leave audiences wondering what will happen next. Although now based in Qld, River Movement have strong roots in Canberra, hence this being ‘The Home Coming Tour’.

They will be supported by Rhys Duursma of indie-folk duo Mayfair Lane and alt-rock band Lowline. His first eclectic batch of solo tunes come with sonic hints of Glen Hansard, Ryan Adams and Jeffrey Martin and is due for release in late 2022. Rhys hopes that these songs, birthed in his solitary, quiet, melancholy inner world, will somehow become a conversation where together we can explore our humanity and the things that unite us.
