Two of Canberra’s best-loved songwriters, Philip Moriarty and Mikelangelo, come together for a night of soul stirring songs at Smith’s Alternative on Friday 26 August. As the founding members of Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen, Mr. Moriarty and Mr. Angelo have been touring and performing together for over 16 years, from the streets of Canberra to the Sydney Opera House concert hall; from the Spiegeltents of Budapest to London’s West End. Along the way, they have garnered fans in almost every corner of the globe and received great critical acclaim, releasing four albums with the Gentlemen, and a number of solo albums besides. For this intimate night at Smiths, Moriarty & Angelo will play as a duo, performing songs new and old from their extensive solo repertoires, with a sprinkling of gems from the catalogues of The Gadflys and the Black Sea Gentlemen.
