Lauded for writing “some of the most simple and beautiful songs you will hear” (****The Age), Lucie Thorne has earned her place as one of Australia’s most striking contemporary songsmiths. With eleven releases to her name – including her latest LP Everything Sings Tonight – and a prodigious touring schedule, Thorne continues to carve out an extraordinary creative career. Together with her longtime collaborator, legendary drummer Hamish Stuart, the pair conjure “exquisitely impressionistic… poetry in motion” (**** Rolling Stone) with an intimacy and warmth for which their live shows have become so renowned. “A demonstration of power through grace and subtlety. World Class.” (Roots Down) “Atmospheric, innovative… brilliance” (****Sydney Morning Herald).

Opening the show is South Australian sweethearts The Yearlings. Since they met back in 2000, Robyn Chalklen and Chris Parkinson have been making music that exudes raw beauty, honesty, intimacy and passion, and have built a reputation for their evocative songwriting, keen harmonies and mesmerizing live performances.

The Yearlings have made numerous festival appearances across Australia and internationally, with supports including Steve Earle, The Punch Brothers and Justin Townes Earle. With Parkinson’s signature guitar tones and Chalklen’s hypnotic prose The Yearlings deliver tunes with a confidence that carries an addictive fragility. Quiet, intimate, raw and powerful, they produce a new strain of acoustic music, distilling Americana alt. country through the filter of distinctly Australian life.
