Founded on poetry and voice leading, Phemister takes influence from songwriters like Elliott Smith, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave. The songs are meticulously assembled, torn to pieces, and reconstructed before becoming fully fleshed out band arrangements. Phemister will be performing songs from his upcoming debut album, ‘Death of the Close Minded’, a collection of songs dealing with the difficulties of recognising your errors, finding the right voice, and figuring out which way is forward.
